Steven Berk, Esq. is a retired partner at Segal, Berk, Gaines & Liss. He handled Civil Litigation, Business, Real Estate, Zoning, Liquor License Transactions and Commercial Transaction cases for the firm and is now serving as “Of Counsel.”
Mr. Berk graduated from Dickinson College with a Bachelor of Arts. His degree was granted Magna Cum Laude and he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa Honorary Society. He received his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1974.
Mr. Berk was the 2014 Top Rated Lawyer in Real Estate Law and Civil Litigation by the American Lawyer Media and Martindale-Hubbel. He is also Martindale-Hubble A-V Rated and has served as a Judge Pro Tem of the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County.
He is the Immediate Past Chair of the Einstein Healthcare Network Board of Trustees and was the Chairman of the Board of Overseers. Mr. Berk continues to serve as a Trustee and Officer at The Einstein Healthcare Network and was a Trustee and Officer of the former Belmont Center for Comprehensive Treatment. Mr. Berk is a member of the Executive Committee on the Louis D. Brandeis Law Society. He also is a member of the Philadelphia Trial Lawyers Association and the Philadelphia Bar Association. In addition, he was the former chairman of the Philadelphia Bar Association Rules and Procedure Committee.
Mr. Berk has been a partner at Segal, Berk, Gaines & Liss since 1979. His experience includes being a member of the Bar of Pennsylvania since 1974, a member of the Bar of New Jersey since 1975, a member of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and a member of the Bar of the United States Supreme Court.
